The Park of the Conero

The characteristic of adriatic coast is a low coast, but the
Conero mount interrupts this way.
The mount is covered, for the greater part of its surface, from
pine woods and from the mediterranean bush: there is the presence of
strowberry plants (from whose Greek name kòmaros perhaps derives the name Cònero), holm-oaks, baies, lentiscoes, junipers and broom-plants. Beyond to
rare species of orchids for the joy photographers, you find also italici
elicrisi with inhebriants parfumes in summer time.
Towards the sea the Conero throws down with its limekilns white
and rose generating beaches, walls and coves for
unforgettable emotions.

The " mount ", as it often is indicated in speaking
between people of the place, is also a point of reference for the
migratory birds that make a reference for the passage
and the pause in the movements Europe North-Africa and for the cross
of the Adriatic from and towards the Balkan countries. The species of birds of pray are numerous, both types which stay and which migrate and
between those the Travelling Hawk that has been
chosen like symbol of the Park.
In the patrimony of the park is necessary to signal the
rocks of the Two Sisters, the coves, the subterranean ways, the Romanesque
churches of S.Maria in Portonovo and S. Peter in the former convent of
the Camaldolesi; beside the historical centers of Numana and
Sirolo, constructed with limestones white and rose of the
Conero.

The Park is famous also for the presence of "
layer-type of Massignano ", the point Eocene-Oligocene limit,
used from the studiouses as meter for the geologic datings and used in
