The dome

What to see

The dome , from 13th century, has one beautiful gotic porch and also the inside is much evocative one. In the crypt there is a sarcophagus of the 4th century with pagan and christian bas-relief. In close Baptistry one beautiful christening font in bronze of the year 1627.
The church of S. Giuseppe from Copertino of the 14th century, has an estimable inside of the 18th century.
Near the imposing orientals (Roman age) walls, are the rests of the Source magna , also of roman age. There are many beautiful palaces and that one of the Municipality, in the main public square, conserves an interesting museum and in the entrance hall of the same palace can be admired roman statues , all without head. The inhabitants of Osimo are called by the neighbors " a senzatesta " (the without-heads), but they dont care too much as perhaps the most prestigious circle of the city is the " Circle of the Without-head ".

Municipality palace: acephalous statue

One small note: between the acephalous statues of Osimo, there is also one of such Mark Opium Capitone guardian of the town of Numana who had fought in the Canne battle against the Chartago (216 a.C.) with troops of Numana.
