Castelfidardo, native land of the accordions
The Museum of the accordion is very interesting and perhaps it expresses the spirit of enterprise and creativity of the character of the regional job.
To admire also the Monument of the Battle, carved from Vito Pardo in memory of the battle of Castelfidardo that happened in 1860 between the Piemonte troops and the Pope troops. This battle was determinant for the unity of Italy. The Pope troops were defeated and uselessly retired on Ancona through secondary roads (Numana and the road of the Conero), but sometimes forced to deviate for the hostility of local supporters of the Italian Renaissance, above all in zone Poggio. Visitabile, always to Castelfidardo, also the museum of the Renaissance. The monumental ossuary of the battle is situated in the place of the battle, near the Selva of Castelfidardo, interesting residual of the forest that a time covered the entire region, situated at the borders of Castelfidardo with Loreto and Numana.
